DOUGLAS & WASHBURN COUNTIES, WISCONSIN

The Minong Flowage

A 1,564-acre drainage impoundment in the northwoods of Wisconsin, the Minong Flowage is home to abundant walleye, northern pike, crappie, and bluegill — and to a community of property owners and visitors who have treasured it for generations. The Flowage spans the Town of Wascott in Douglas County and south into the Town of Minong and Washburn County, formed by the impoundment of the Totogatic River, and managed in partnership with the Wisconsin DNR.

THE FLOWAGE

“A northwoods lake like no other — wild rice bays, walleye at dawn, and a horizon that delights all day.”

Wascott, Wisconsin

FOUR SEASONS

Spring & Summer

Walleye, crappie, bass, and bluegill draw anglers from across the region. The Flowage's three public landings and open waters make it ideal for fishing and paddling.

Fall

The wild rice bays turn golden, waterfowl move through, and the Flowage settles into its quietest and most beautiful season.

Winter

Ice forms by early December, bringing crappie and bluegill ice anglers onto the Flowage through March.
